Student Athletics

SMA’s athletics program is an integral part of our school’s mission to help our students develop as well-rounded individuals. Through physical education, team sports, and recreational/enrichment athletic activities, we strive to instill in our students the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the values of dedication, determination, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Organized team sports currently include volleyball, basketball, and cross-country. Other athletic opportunities offered through our after school enrichment and recreation program include basketball skills clinics, a dodgeball tournament, and Run For God, a twelve week running program with a Christian focus which prepares students to run the SMA 5K road race in the spring.

Schoolnotes is used for St. Mary Academy athletics information for all SMA teams (grades 5-8). Practice and game schedules can be found on the site as well as directions to other schools. (Please note: parents are responsible for transporting their children to games.)

Any time there is a change to a practice or game schedule, an email notice will be sent out from Schoolnotes which indicates that there has been a change and provides a link to the site. To receive up to the minute notifications of changes, please go to the SMA Schoolnotes site ( and add your email addresses (home/work/grandparents/etc) in the “notify me” area.  Notifications will come from [email protected], so be sure to add this to your contact list. You can add or delete addresses at any time to begin or stop receiving email notifications.  Feel free to pass the link to family and friends who may want to get team schedules.
